Description
This specimen shows an enlarged heart, with left ventricular hypertrophy and an infarct in the apical
portion of the left ventricle. (The colour of the infarct has been distorted by embalming before
autopsy).
History
This man had a myocardial infarct 2 weeks before he died. There was organising blood
clot in the descending branch of the left coronary artery at a point 3cm from its origin.
